Pictures In An Album
She was a little girl, from a little town, just simply struggling to get around,
When that big world came for her she was blown away,
by a memory that can never fade...
Pictures in an album,
yellow aged edges,
Polaroid blurred faces,
and memories image caught
Grew up small, and she grew up right,
little country girl holding the sights,
she saw the big world, and her life would change,
ain't it funny how we're left never the same...
Pictures in this album,
frayed plastic edges wave,
doubles behind,
and always the one we forget
Little Army girl moving on her way,
big world taking her by the hand,
teaching all the things that her mother can't,
little Army girl, and a call from home...
Pictures in a locker,
taped up on all sides,
memories fly by,
a little stronger each day
Little pappy's girl, it will be okay,
it might seem hard now, but there's another day,
where you'll see them again, and what can I say,
but its time to move on, on, on,
Pictures in a folder,
manila name in green,
a faded smile so far away from home,
staring back at the world
Big Siss what are you gonna do?
you might seem all alone, but don't you move,
take a deep breath and you'll be through,
and you'll see them all someday...
Pictures in an album,
a home, that is left unsound,
worn plastic, and a weary crackle
but always homeward bound
She was just a little girl, from a little town,
never thought they'd see her gaining any ground,
the big world came, and she was blown away,
now a little woman is here to stay.
Torn, frayed edges, and faded smiles,
make it all the while.
Wow Sammey. This is your story. I can tell you wrote this one. It's beautiful!
