Lost TIme

Lost Time

Sand... oh sandman... Sand... man...
 Slipping through tight knit knuckles,
Tick, tock, tick tock,
The white rabbits watch buckles,
Time passing, slipping, falling
Last breath, and finally a chance to rest...

Passers by throwing such precious seconds down rusty iron grates.
Children growing, parents aging,
lives being lived without ever being told
Lost chances, all in this war on time your waging.

Sand... oh sandman... Sand... man...
 Slipping through tight knit knuckles,
Tick, tock, tick tock,
The white rabbits watch buckles,
Time passing, slipping, falling
Chances lay all around...
Do you even realize its your soul you've sold?

I see the vision of someone I once knew in a lost man's eye.
A childish glint that you left down a long winded road,
Passenger on this cold curb left to wonder why.
You burden an invisible load...

Sand... oh sandman... Sand... man...
 Slipping through tight knit knuckles,
Tick, tock, tick tock,
The white rabbits watch buckles,
Time passing, slipping, falling
Are you proud of the seeds you've sewn?

A big shot in your world of black and white schemes,
but an hourglass has left no grains for you to negotiate,
Looking back the road littered by burnt pictures, and scattered dreams,
Cold, empty thoughts built on fear to disassociate,

Sand... oh sandman... Sand... man...
 Slipping through tight knit knuckles,
Tick, tock, tick tock,
The white rabbits watch buckles,
Time passing, slipping, falling
And nothing left to offer...
Are you aware of the walls you've built?

Alone on a dead-end street, cold lamps surround you,
time has passed, and what is there to see?
All the birds finally went south and flew,
Tight ties, and the world's bank is this who you wanted to be?
All by yourself in a world that's turned blue...
Can you see the ghosts you've left?

Slipping through tight knit knuckles,
Time passing, slipping, falling...
Slipping, falling...
